Position Description
SUMMARY: JOB DESCRIPTION FOR QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
GENERAL FUNCTION: To sample, weigh, inspect, and assign grades, to the product and to collect bacteria and other samples.
SUPERVISED BY: Quality Control Manager, Supervisor, & Lead
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
WORK PERFORMED:
1. Checks and records the package quality for label placement, legibility, proper coding, package integrity and product temperature.
2. Checks and records product and package weights and notifies supervision of problems.
3. Inspects and tests samples of product for quality factors as specified.
4. Assigns the proper grade to the product.
5. Notifies the Prep and Package Departments and Quality Control Lead of all deviants in quality factors of product and packages.
6. Collects Bacti, customer, and other samples as needed- aseptically.
MARGINAL DUTIES:
1. Does other work as required.
2. Complies with and helps implement Plant Safety Program.

3. Complies with and helps implement Food Safety Program, which ensures that our product meets customer specifications, is safe, legal and wholesome.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Protective head gear (bump cap), Company approved hearing protection and a hairnet are required on this job.
Employee must rinse hands in a sanitary hand dip every time before handling the product.
Personal cleanliness is required on this job.

Various shifts available. $10.69/hr plus $0.25 swing and $0.50 grave differential.
